The first race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday went the way of the Chris Waller trained I Am Invincible gelding Jack the Lad, who has a half-brother entered for the upcoming Inglis Ready2Race 2YO Sale.
Having his second race start following a debut third at the same venue two weeks ago, Jack the Lad showed the benefit of that outing, finishing with great determination under Brenton Avdulla to score a long head win in the 1400m maiden.
A $575,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Milburn Creek draft for Waller Racing/Mulcaster Bloodstock, Jack the Lad runs for a big group of owners headed by Peter Horwitz in whose colours he runs.
Jack the Lad is the first winner for Luluoru, an unraced half-sister by Redoute’s Choice to US stakes-winner Topic from the family of Group I winner Afleet Alex.
Milburn Creek passed in the Written Tycoon two year-old colt from Luluoru at Inglis Easter this year and he will be offered as Lot 40 at the Inglis Ready2Race by Smart Bloodstock.
