Racing at Rosehill on Saturday started on a sobering note with a dreadful fall in the opening race involving popular rider Andrew Adkins, who was taken to hospital.

The race was marred by a nasty incident in the home straight when Hot’n Hazy fell heavily between runners with his rider Andrew Adkins subsequently taken to hospital.

A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase for Triple Crown from the Newgate Farm draft, Smart Image was bred by SF Bloodstock in partnership and is the third winner from Group III winner Shared Reflections.
A Gooree Stud homebred, Shared Reflections was bought by Newgate and partners from their draft at the 2017 Inglis Broodmare Sale for $255,000 when carrying Smart Image.
Newgate sold her current yearling colt by Capitalist at the Inglis Easter Round 2 Sale for $80,000 and she was covered last spring by Russian Revolution.
Smart Image is another good winner for Twin Hills Stud’s Smart Missile, who has sired the winners of over $8million this season including six stakes-winners headed by Group III winner Ballistic Boy.
The son of Fastnet Rock stands at a fee of $22,000 this spring.
