The first day of the Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale is underway and Racenet will bring you news of the significant sales as they happen.

Lot 240- The Huddy's back again, this time a $400,000Exceed And Excelsister to Group II winner Headwater out of the Oakleigh Plate winner River Dove.

Fastnet Rock colt from Risk AversionLot 239 SESSION TOPPER- John O'Shea will train the $1mFastnet Rockcolt out of the Brisbane Listed winner Risk Aversion after his purchase by Coolmore.

"He's the best Fastnet Rock colt I've seen since Foxwedge," O'Shea said.

Lot 231- Bahen in action again, going to $700,000 for a colt byDeep Field, a half-brother to group II performer Unique Quality.

"He just bounded out of his box and filled the eye," Bahen said. "But what impressed me is his brain, he stopped when he was asked and behaved all the way through.

"He looks a ready made two-year-old but we'll see, he is for Orbis Bloodstock and will remain in Australia to start with."

Lot 229- Ciaron Maher will train the $400,000Not A Single Doubtbrother to Group I winnerSingle Gaze.

Lot 223- Justin Bahen signs on behalf of Orbis Bloodstock for a $500,000 colt byI Am Invincible, closely related to Group I winner Delectation.

Lot 215- Yoshida strikes again for anotherFastnet Rockcolt, this one out of the Irish Group III winner Radharcnafarraige at $650,000.

"He had everything, physique, pedigree and athleticism," Yoshida said. "He is for a Hong Kong client but will stay here in Australia and be trained by Peter and Paul Snowden - we have been with them since they started.

Lot 214- Paul Moroney goes to $500,000 for theSnitzelfilly out of a half-sister to Group I winner He's No Pie Eater, from the family of Redoute's Choice, Manhattan Rain, Al Maher and Umatilla.

Lot 203- The second foal of Brisbane Listed winnerPure Purrfection, a filly by Pierro, sells to Boomer Bloodstock for $550,000.

"I first saw her at Eureka and she impressed me then. She's short coupled and looks like she might go early but she was just a filly we really wanted to buy if we could." Craig Rousefell said.

Lot 200- George Moore goes to $525,000 for theDissidenthalf-brother to Group winners Prompt Response and Prompt Return.

Lot 188- Marie Yoshida signs for the $500,000Fastnet Rockcolt out of half-sister to Group I winner Holy Roman Emperor on behalf of a Hong Kong client.

Lot 175- Tony McEvoy will train the $400,000I Am Invinciblehalf-brother to Group performer Berimbau.

Lot 172- TheFastnet Rockcolt out of the Group I Tattersalls Tiara winner Pear Tart will be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott after selling for $500,000.

Lot 164 -Mick Pricewill train the $500,000 Fastnet Rock filly out of the two-year-old Listed winner Paprika.

"We've bought her principally for a stable client Adam Brandwood but we will be syndicating part of her," Price said.

"What's not to like - she's a cracking sort by a champion sire out of a good mare and I just loved her."

Lot 160- Flowerin action again, going to $470,000 for aRubickcolt out of the Sydney winning Our Songbird.

Lot 145- Gai Waterhouse will train the $625,000I Am Invinciblefilly out of Group III winner Octavia following her purchase by Jon Kelly, Reg Inglis and Paul Frampton.

Lot 142- James Harron adds theExceed And Excelcolt out of Group Iplaced Oasis Rose to his purchases at $600,000.

"He's another for the colts syndicate and he fits the bill. He has the pedigree, the physique we look for and he looks an early going sort - a classy colt.

"The brother is now a stakes winner, he's out of a good mare by Oasis Dream who is doing the job as a broodmare sire so we're glad to have got him."

Lot 141- Damion Flowerbuys theSebringfilly out of Group III winner Oakleigh Girl for $450,000.

Lot 137- New Zealand-based agent Bruce Perry signs for theWritten Tycoonbrother to Group II winnerBookerat $600,000.

Lot 129- Mick Price will train the $300,000Snitzelcolt out of a half-sister to VRC Oaks winner Special Harmony.

Lot 127- Alan Bell signs for aDeep Fieldcolt out of French Group III winner Never Forget at $300,000.

Lot 114- Jon Kelly and partners including Reg Inglis go to $370,000 for aNot A Single Doubtgranddaughter of champion New Zealand filly Flying Babe.

Lot 107- AnI Am Invinciblecolt related to Group I winners Duporth and Excites, sells for $310,000.

Lot 100- Guy Mulcaster strikes again, signing for aWritten Tycooncolt out of a half-sister to Listed winner Psychic Mick for $325,000.

Lot 90-Ciaron Maherwill train the $320,000Written Tycoonbrother to Group III winner Vibrant Rouge

After 85 lots the sale average is $206,393 with a median of $160,000. The clearance rate is 73 percent.

Lot 85- Clarry Conners will train theSnitzelfilly out of Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mimi Lebrock after signing at $400,000.

Lot 84- Gillian Heinrich pays $500,000 for the fifth foal of her Magic Millions 2YO Classic winnerMilitary Rose- a colt by All Too Hard.

Lot 52-Snitzelcolt from the family of North American Grade I winner Exciting Story sells to James Harron for $900,000.

"He's one of the colts of the sale for me. I first saw him at Arrowfield last year and every time I looked at him he just grew on me more and more. He has the shape, a great walk, a great attitude and just very athletic. I knew I'd have to go high on him but that's the way it is with these type of colts.

"We've had some good success with the stallion -he's for our colts syndicate and will be trained by Peter and Paul Snowden.

Lot 51- ARedoute's Choicefilly out of a winning half-sister to Group I winner Typhoon Tracy sells to Graham and Lindy Huddy for $650,000.

"We'll take her home and give her some time out in the paddock because this is pretty hard on them here at the sales. We'll break her in and go from there," Linda Huddy said.

"We have between 15 and 20 broodmares and 20 horses in work at any one time. We're not big but it's a nice size for us to handle. But she's a great asset to us, I just loved her."

Lot 29- The first yearling through the ring byDeep Field, a colt related to Group winning sprinters Schubert and Gonski, sells for $300,000 to China Horse Clun / WinStar Farm. Two lots later a Deep Field colt out of Listed winning sprinter Liesele will be trained byChris Wallerafter selling to Star Thoroughbreds for $225,000.

Lot 21- ASebringhalf-sister to this season's stakesperformerGrand Challenge sells for $350,000 to agent {Paul Moroney acting for Go Bloodstock.

Lot 17- The first foal of Group-placedLady Lakshmi, a colt by Zoustar, sells to James Harron for $375,000.

Lot 13- Michael Wallace goes to $520,000 for aWritten Tycooncolt descended from Wakeful Stakes winner La Caissiere.

"We know the stallion and what he can do and this colt fitted the bill - he looks a real jump and run type and fitted our criteria," Wallace said.

"He's for a partnership including China Horse Club, WinStar and Newgate and if you want thes type of colts you have to pay for them."

Lot 11- A first-crop son ofDissidentand closely related to Criterionsells for $300,000 to Spendthrift Farm.

Lot 10- ASnitzelfilly is 'sold' for $450,000 to 'Wes' who claims he was waving to a friend.

Lot 1- The first lot through the ring, a fillyBel Esprit, sells for $170,000 to the bid of Brett Howard's Randwick Bloodstock Agency.
