Anthony Cumming is a good judge of a yearling and a Hellbent youngster he spotted at Inglis Easter opened his account with a bold front running win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Gelded after three modest runs in May and June that resulted in one placing, Never Fails returned to racing a stronger and more focused competitor in the 1100m maiden.
He powered forward to lead and kicked away to win by a couple of lengths with Josh Parr in the saddle.

“He travelled well and settled enough to save some energy and gave a good kick.”
A $160,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Cummings from the Fairhill Farm draft, Never Fails runs for a big group of owners and is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Singapore Champion 2YO Super One and half-brother to Group II placed sprinter Super Too.
Bred by Reg Kemister, Never Fails is the third winner from three foals to race from unraced Tale of the Cat (USA) mare Tails Wins.
Yarraman Park's Hellbent has strong representation at upcoming sales with 16 for Magic Millions and 30 for Inglis Classic.
