Tara Madgwick - Sunday August 28

Trial watchers have been waiting for the first race day appearance from the little brother to ill-fated star sprinter Libertini and he duly saluted at Wyong on Sunday.

Trained by Michael Freedman, Hawaii Five Oh was a heavily backed favourite and despite racing greenly was able to score a neck win in the 1200m maiden.

mebred for Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud, Hawaii Five Oh is a full brother to multiple Group II winning sprinter Libertini and is from Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Aloha.

Aloha has been a tricky breeder in recent years and has not had a living foal since Hawaii Five Oh.

Hawaii Five Oh capped a flurry of success over the last few days for Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible, who held court at the Mitchell family owned farm on Friday afternoon at their annual stallion parade.

He sired a new stakes-winner last Friday when Garibaldi won the Listed Goldmarket at the Gold Coast and then his star Kiwi trained mare Imperatriz dominated the Group II Foxbridge Plate in New Zealand on Saturday.

I Am Invincible will cover another full book of mares at a fee of $247,500 this spring.
