Leon and Troy Corstens have high hopes for New York Baby after she made a winning debut in the $100,000 Gold Strike (1000m) at Warrnambool.

New York Baby sat outside the leader under Damien Oliver and was too strong at the finish winning by the best part of a length.
Troy Corstens has a good opinion of New York Baby and will look to spell the filly with spring goals in mind.
"Credit goes to Ollie, he was really keen to run her. I think she needs to put on another 40-50kg and (then) I do think she's a really good filly," Corstens said.
"She will go straight to the paddock. I always said to the guys that no matter what she does today she will be going to the paddock.
"I was hoping she would do that and we got it right today."
A $75,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Sledmere Stud draft for Malua Bloodstock, New York Baby is the second winner from Shadow Doll, a three-quarter -sister by Dane Shadow to Group I winner Mirjulisa Lass.
New York Baby is the ninth Australian juvenile winner this season for Written Tycoon, who has sired over 160 winners that include 12 Australian stakes-winners .
