A dual Group I winner on the track, who made $2million when bought by Tom Magnier at the 2019 Inglis Chairman’s Sale, Srikandi produced her first winner on Thursday.
Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, three year-old Snitzel filly Heroess was a short priced favourite when resuming from a spell in the 1000m maiden at Gosford and saluted in style.
Fourth and third at her only previous outings last year, Heroess was ridden forward by James McDonald and forged clear at the finish to win by two lengths.
A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase for Andrew Williams Bloodstock from the Kitchwin Hills draft, Heroess runs for Carl Holt and GPI Racing.
The second foal of Srikandi is two year-old I Am Invincible filly Billiondollarbaby, who made $1million at Inglis Easter last year ad has shown plenty of promise.
Also trained by the Snowdens, she won two barrier trials last month so should be making a raceday appearance sooner rather than later.
Srikandi has a yearling filly by American Pharoah (USA) that has been withdrawn from Inglis Easter and a colt to follow by Justify (USA), who covered the $2.3 million earning daughter of Dubawi again last spring.
