In Her Time Takes Inglis Everest Slot

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 31
Inglis announced earlier today that Group I mare In Her Time, a rising seven year-old, would be their representative for the $14million The Everest in October.

In Her Time - Grant Courtney"Our representative (In Her Time) is a graduate of the Inglis Classic Sale, her father (Time Thief) the Easter Yearling Sale," Inglis managing director Mark Webster said.

"We're delighted to be partnering up with the trainer Kris Lees and owners Peter Brown and Orbis Bloodstock.

"This mare is already a multiple Group I winner, she's a star of the track, she's represented the company with distinction for many years now and we can't wait to team up with her ahead of and for The Everest."

Earlier this month, In Her Time's owner-breeder Peter Brown sold 50 percent of the mare to former jockey Paul King's Orbis Bloodstock for an undisclosed sum.

Orbis Bloodstock has purchased 22 yearlings at Inglis's major sales this year totalling $10.85 million.

"We're so excited to have secured a slot so early for In Her Time and we thank Inglis for backing this mare and backing our decision to invest in her," Orbis Bloodstock's Paul King said.

"In Her Time has proven herself capable of beating the best sprinters in the land on her day. In winning the Lightning two starts ago she beat the likes of Osborne Bulls, Sunlight and Graff – three horses she may well come up against on Everest Day again – and when running a narrow second to Santa Ana Lane in the VRC Sprint the start prior she left horses such as Redzel, Pierata, Spright, Brave Smash and internationals Jungle Cat, US Navy Flag and Fleet Review in her wake.

"Kris is confident he will get the mare to peak on Everest Day and if Kris has that belief and confidence, we're happy to share in that with him."

The winner of over $3.1 million in prizemoney, In Her Time was seventh in the 2018 The Everest when unsuited by the heavy track.
