Darley's
Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting to Win added another metropolitan winner to
his tally with a Sandown victory on Sunday for improving fille Éclair Breeze.
Third and second at her only two previous runs, the Phillip stokes trained
filly was ready to break the ice and surged home to win the 1200 metre sprint
by a long neck.
A $150,000 Inglis Premier purchase for her trainer from the Glentree
Thoroughbreds draft, Éclair Breeze is the second winner from stakes-winning
Exceed and Excel mare Armed for Action, who was also placed in the Group I MRC
Blue Diamond Stakes.
Éclair Breeze is the sixth winner for Shooting to Win and four of those winners
are metropolitan winners.
The Group I winning son of Northern Meteor stands at Darley this spring at a
fee of $22,000.
