Aussie Stakes Success in South Africa

Choisir featured with a stakes-winner in South Africa on Friday when four year-old gelding Sir Frenchie captured the Listed East Cape Sprint Cup at Fairview.

ChoisirPrepared by Justin Snaith, Sir Frenchie was Group III placed previously and claimed his third Black Type success when powering clear to win the 1200 metre sprint by two and a quarter lengths as favourite.

An $82,500 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for Paul Lafferty from the Attunga Stud draft, Sir Frenchie has won seven of 23 starts and is the first winner for metro winning Viscount mare Volando, a half-sister to Group II winner Vezalay.

Volando has a weanling filly by Choisir's Group I winning son Divine Prophet that is a three-quarter sister to Sir Frenchie.

She is now in foal to Merchant Navy.
