A
hot winning run for champion sire Snitzel in the past week continued at Gosford
on Thursday with a tenacious victory for speedy three year-old colt Schnapps bringing
a welcome pedigree update for his Inglis Premier bound half-brother by
Vancouver.
Trained by Brad Widdup for a partnership headed by his breeder Damion Flower of
Jadeskye Thoroughbreds, Schnapps led all the way and scored a head win in the
1200 metre maiden at his fourth start.
Schnapps is the second winner for stakes-placed Anabaa USA) mare Very Cherry,
who has a yearling colt by Golden Slipper winner Vancouver entered for the 2019
Inglis Premier Yearling Sale as Lot 7.
He made $125,000 as a weanling at the Inglis Great Southern Sale when bought by
Princess Park / Sheamus Mills Bloodstock Pty Ltd and will be re-offered by
Princess Park.
Schnapps is one of 14 winners in the past seven days for Snitzel, who has unleashed
a stampede of winners in January including his first Magic Millions 2YO Classic
winner Exhilarates.
