Sweet Snitzel Winner in South Africa

Australian bred three year-old Snitzel filly Sweet Red posted her first victory at Vaal in South Africa on Tuesday.

Sweet Red as a yearlingTrained by J A Janse van Vuuren, Sweet Red was second fourth and third in three previous runs and broke through to win over 1700m by daylight with the official margin being nine lengths.

A $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Heritage Bloodstock from the Kitchwin Hills draft and is the third winner from stakes-winning Encosta de Lago mare Strawberry Field.

Strawberry Field changed hands in 2017 when bought by James Harron Bloodstock at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $420,000. 


She has a yearling Exceed and Excel colt for Love Racing and produced a filly this spring by Capitalist.
