Cox Plate winner So You Think has been enjoying a hot run in Australia as a
sire with new stakes-winners D'Argento, Think Bleue and The Pinnacle and added
to that tally with a stakes-winner in France on Wednesday with Marathon Man winning
the Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte at Longchamp.
A four year-old entire trained by Carlos et Yann Lerner, Marathon Man scored a
tenacious head win in the 1m1f contest, his fourth win from 14 starts.
He is the tenth stakes-winner for So You Think and is his first in the Northern
Hemisphere.
Marathon Man is a half-brother to stakes-placed Saunter and is from Marie des
Fleurs, a half-sister by Smart Strike to stakes-winner Anazone from Group III winner
Ozone Bere.
So You Think had eight yearlings average $141,875 at Inglis Easter Book 1 with
his top seller a colt from Chanel Number Five that made $200,000 for Windsor
Park when knocked down to Adrian Bott/ Gai Waterhouse/ Blue Sky Bloodstock.
