Newgate Farm is proud
to present an outstanding roster of 13 stallions showcasing the very best of
Australian bloodlines.
"It is with great excitement that we announce
service fees for Newgate stallions in the upcoming 2018 breeding season," said
Newgate General Manager, Bruce Slade
"There has never been a better time to breed, particularly to Newgate's roster
of young stallions with their bases loaded in terms of quality and quantity
coming through.
"Despite the continued growth of the yearling and weanling market over the last
five years our service fees remain relatively unchanged in 2018."
Top billing this year is shared at $55,000 between Golden Slipper winner
Capitalist, the most popular first season sire in Australia in 2017, and newly
retired Russian Revolution.
A powerful dual Group I winning sprinter by Australia's champion sire Snitzel,
Russian Revolution comes from a proven stallion producing female family that
has given us champion Australian sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur.
"We are very appreciative of the interest our
blindingly fast and super handsome son of Snitzel has received from breeders
since his retirement from racing was announced," Slade said.
"Now that we have announced a fee for Russian Revolution we can work with
breeders to craft his first book which we expect to be of unprecedented
quality."
The future looks bright for Dissident, Deep Field and Wandjina, who have had
yearlings light up the sale rings in Australia this year and will have their
first runners in the spring. All three are priced to offer the potential of
huge upside for breeders who choose to utilize them in their fourth season at
stud.
"Our first stallion Foxwedge continues to punch
out city winners weekly and is in rarified air having produced two Group I
winners from just three crops of racing age," Slade pointed out.
"With plenty of numbers coming through we expect his star to continue to rise
and he represents terrific value this year at $20,000 plus GST."
The remainder of our roster is a group including some of the most promising
young stallion prospects in the country.
"There are no doubt top future sires amongst them and the opportunity is now
there for breeders to make real money on future rising service fees," Slade
concluded.
"We would encourage breeders to take note of the information on them all out in
the market place already - including early race results and auction results -
and breed accordingly.
"2018 is a game changer for many breeders who will support Newgate stallions
and as always our team will be there assisting breeders, from the start of the
commercial mating process, through the sales and onto the racetrack."
