Third
in the Group I Premio Lydia Tesio Stakes at Cappanelle in Italy last year, Irish
trained Fastnet Rock mare Laganore made amends this year when returning to score
a dominant victory.
A homebred for Newtown Anner Stud trained by Tony Martin, Laganore was an easy
Group III winner at Gowran Park at her previous run and ran up to that good
form in the 1m2f feature.
The five year-old powered clear to win by two lengths taking her overall record to seven wins
and seven placings from 21 starts.
Laganore is from Lady Bones, a half-sister by Royal Applause to HK Group I winner
Blazing Speed from the family of Hong Kong Derby winners Johan Cruyff and Super
Satin.
She is the 29th Group I winner worldwide for Coolmore's champion
sire Fastnet Rock and is his seventh in the Northern Hemisphere.
