Group Double for Holy Roman Emperor Fillies

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 23
Aquis Farm's top class shuttler Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) was making news in Europe on the weekend when siring an impressive Group double for talented fillies Rock My Love and Navaro Girl.

Undefeated German bred two year-old filly Rock My Love was a stylish three-quarter length winner of the Group III Preis der Winterkonigin over 1600 metres at Baden-Baden.

Holy Roman EmperorAlready a stakes-winner, Rock My Love has now won three out of three starts and is a sibling to two other stakes-winners in Rock My Soul and Rock My Heart being from the good producer Rondinay, a daughter of Cadeaux Genereux.

Making it a Group double at Baden-Baden for Holy Roman Emperor was three year-old filly Navaro Girl, who took out the Group III Baden-Wurttemberg-Trophy.

Group III placed previously, Navaro Girl ran out an easy length and a half winner of the 2000 metre contest, which was her second win from seven starts and first in Black Type company.

A three-quarter sister to German Group I winners Nymphea and Nutan, Navaro Girl is the fourth stakes-winner from stellar producer Neele, a stakes-placed daughter of Peintre Celebre.

Navaro Girl is the 71st stakes-winner for Holy Roman Emperor, who stands at Aquis Farm in Queensland at a fee of $9,900.

Asian demand for the progeny of Holy Roman Emperor is always strong, resulting in a keen interest in his colts, but a good look at his overall statistics show Holy Roman Emperor is also an excellent sire of fillies with 34 of his 71 stakes-winners being of the fairer sex.

Holy Roman Emperor is also showing promise as a broodmare sire with his daughters having produced over 50 winners to date highlighted by Group I winners Verbal Dexterity and Johannes Vermeer, who was third in the Group I MRC Caulfield Cup last Saturday.
