Valuable Black Type Win for Invincible Filly

Tara Madgwick - Saturday June 24

The $160,000 Listed Tattersalls Life Members Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday was contested by some well bred juveniles with victory going to the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained I Am Invincible filly Zoukerette.

A maiden winner at Canterbury last month and then a last start fourth in a Listed race at Eagle Farm won by smart colt Namesake, Zoukerette had race fitness and experience on her side and put them to advantage.

She raced forward to lead for John Allen and was too strong at the finish beating race favourite Right to Party by a long neck.

“It was good. She had it tough last start and she was good late. She is a tough filly. Obviously very fit,” said stable representative Johann Gerard-Dubord.

"The plan wasn't to lead today, but once she was left alone in front she had it her own way and that was a big plus.

"Great to get another win at two and now we look to the spring.”

Zoukerette was bred and sold by Milburn Creek Stud.

A half-sister to stakes-winner Zoukerino and Group III placed Spend, Zoukerette was an $800,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Milburn Creek for Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/Suman Hedge Bloodstock and runs for Iskander Racing , Sean Griffiths and Suman Hedge.

Bred by Milburn Creek, she is the fifth winner from five to race from stakes-winning Hussonet (USA) mare Walk With Attitude, a daughter of stakes-winner Hillfa, whose dam Fayfa is a half-sister to Group I winning blue hen Rafha, the dam of champion European sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac. Multiple Group I winning juveniles Pinatubo and Pride of Dubai are also in the family.

Milburn Creek sold a yearling colt by The Autumn Sun from Walk With Attitude at Inglis Easter this year for $120,000.

Zoukerette is the 96th stakes-winner for Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible and is his 22nd in Australia this season.
