Ridden by Ben Thompson for Steven O'Dea and Matthew Hoysted, Better Get Set defeated the favoured Snitzel mare Juan Diva by three-quarters of a length, with the I Am Invincible mare California Surreal a length back in third.

It was a third consecutive win for the Proven Thoroughbreds colourbearer, advancing her record to six wins, five seconds, and four thirds from 23 starts with earnings of $374,075.

A bargain $85,000 purchase for Proven Thoroughbreds/Steven O'Dea Racing from the Lyndhurst Stud Farm draft at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, Better Get Set is the best of three winners from as many to race for the Fastnet Rock mare Ridolfi.

The omens were good for Better Get Set when her highly talented 3yo sister Queen Assassin broke her maiden at Doomben on Friday after finishing second on debut at Doomben in November.

Better Get Set an $85,000 Magic Millions yearling

Nick Walsh Racing needed just $30,000 to purchase a sister to Better Get Set at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast National Yearling Sale.

A daughter of the Group II Wakefield Challenge Stakes winner and Group 1 placed La Italia (Stravinsky), Ridolfi foaled a sister to Better Get Set on September 9.

Better Get Set is the seventh black-type winner for Lyndhurst Stud Farm’s Better Than Ready, which has 24 catalogued for the Magic Millions and two at the Inglis Classic.
