ARQANA launches SirePower Plus

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 26

French auction house Arqana have announced a unique initiative to support breeders seeking to utilise elite European sires with the resulting progeny to be sold through their sales as foals or yearlings – is it a concept that could be explored for the Australian market?

To encourage breeders to cover their best mares with the very best stallions in order to produce yearlings for sale, ARQANA have launched a unique program that offers breeders the possibility of having 50% of the covering fee financed by the Deauville auction house up until the offspring is sold.

Unique in Europe, this initiative is aimed at French breeders with or without a stud, as well as foreign breeders with mares in France or that are planning to have mares in France, who wish to cover their top flat mares.

This program will concentrate on the top international stallions that are in demand because of their progeny’s results both on the racecourse and at the yearling sales.

The offspring resulting from this program will then be offered as foals or yearlings at ARQANA.

Olivier Delloye, President of ARQANA, and Freddy Powell, Managing Director, commented, “With this initiative, we want to enable breeders to make their mares’ coverings more attractive. By concentrating on good mares and the elite stallions in the European stallion pool, this program is designed to help raise the level of our yearlings on offer and continue to broaden our customer base. We hope to create a virtuous dynamic, with positive impacts at various levels for future generations and sales.”

ARQANA's Bloodstock team is available for further information on the eligibility conditions for this offer.
