Vieira Family Feeling the Love

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 15

Widden Stud’s much missed Golden Slipper winning sire Sebring had his 80th stakes-winner on Friday when Agreeable won the Listed Murray Bridge Gold Cup and he wasted no time following up with his 81st when promising three year-old filly A Lot More Love started Everest day at Randwick with a win in the Listed ATC Reginald Allen Stakes (1400m).

A homebred for Bert Vieira and his family, the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou  trained filly A Lot More Love ended a frustrating run of minor placings with a last start maiden win at Newcastle and was fitted with blinkers for this tougher assignment.

She trialled well in the blinkers last week and produced a career best performance when it counted for Brenton Avdulla to surge through in the inside and win by two lengths over progressive fillies Vienna Princess (Snitzel) and Call Di (Frankel).

uo;When she won at Newcastle a month ago Brenton (Avdulla) recommended putting blinkers on her as we thought she should have won that race a lot easier,” said Gerald Ryan.

“She trialled really good in the blinkers and I’ve been really confident for the last two weeks about her coming into this race.”

A Lot More Love was offered through the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale in the Widden Stud draft and recorded as a $10,000 sale, but runs for her breeders the Vieira family and has the overall record of two wins and four placings from seven starts with prizemoney topping $140,000.

She is the first winner for Little Bita Love, a winning half-sister by Snippetson to the dam of last week’s Group III ATC Nivision winner Sky Command from Group III winner Sky Love.

It’s a terrific Black Type family made famous by Stuart Ramsey featuring Group I winner Sky Cuddle and Group II winners Champagne Cuddles, Highly Recommended and Fast Clip.

Little Bita Love has a two year-old filly by Trapeze Artist called Sky Artist and a yearling colt by the same sire to follow and is back in foal to him again.
