The half-sister by Zoustar to five-time Group I winning sprinter Santa Ana Lane made a winning debut at Echuca on Friday.

Trained by Leon and Troy Corstens, the two year-old filly Fast Star gave Billy Egan a good ride in the 1200m maiden, powering clear at the finish to win by nearly three lengths in a dominant display.

uo;I think she’s going to be a nice filly and can keep progressing as she gets older,” said Billy Egan.

A $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Willow Park  draft for Malua Bloodstock, she runs for a syndicate that includes her breeder Bill Pearce of Bromfield Park.

She is a half-sister to $8million earner Santa Ana Lane and is the third winner from Fast Fleet, who was bought by Glenn Burrows Bloodstock / Bromfield Park from the Inglis Chairman’s Sale in 2019 for $800,000.

She was in foal to Zoustar with Fast Star the result of the mating.

Fast Fleet has a yearling colt by I Am invincible and was covered last spring by Written Tycoon.

Fast Star is the 17th 2YO winner of the season for Zoustar.
