A homebred for United Syndications, promising two year-old filly I’mlovin’ya became the latest stakes-winner for Golden Slipper winning sire Capitalist when she surged clear to win the Listed VRC Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on Saturday.
Having her second start following a debut sixth in the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Preview last month, she showed the benefit of that experience when travelling strongly for Damian Lane behind the leaders.
When angled into the clear, I’mlovin’ya accelerated strongly to run past blueblood I Am Invincible filly Waltz on By going on to win by three-quarters of a length.
“She’s not really big, but she makes up for that with her attitude and how hard she tries,” said Damian Lane.
Co-trainers Mick Price and Mick Kent Jr will let the dust settle before making any decision on backing up into the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes next week, but there are a myriad of options for this talented filly who has already banked over $100,000 in prizemoney.
I’mlovin’ya is a half-sister to Group III winner Immortal Love and is the fourth winner from four to race from stakes-winning Bel Esprit mare Loveyamadly, a sibling to Lite’n in my Veins, Written Beauty and Hi World.
The current yearling from Loveyamadly is a colt by Rubick that was sold in the Highway Session of Inglis Classic for just $10,000 to Ripley Thoroughbreds.
She has a filly to follow by So You Think and was covered last spring by King’s Legacy.
I’mlovin’ya is the seventh stakes-winner for Newgate Farm's Capitalist, who has 17 entries for Inglis Premier and 12 for Inglis Easter.
