Champion trainer Peter Moody saddled two short priced favourites by I Am Invincible at Sandown on Wednesday and both three year-olds saluted in style with Black Type goals on the horizon.
Promising filly Forbidden City showed talent in four runs last season, but failed to claim a win, however rectified that situation swiftly at her first run back from a length spell of 32 weeks.
She dominated her rivals in the 1300m maiden event, thrashing them to win by eight lengths under Blaike McDougall.
“She had a bit on those quality wise and she’s really come on from that campaign last year, it was just a shame she missed the spring,” said Peter Moody.
“She’ll take good improvement from that physically and mentally, so now we’ve got that metro win we can see if we can chase a bit of Black type.”
A $450,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Moody from the Yarraman Park draft, Forbidden City race in the Trelawney Stud colours.
Bred by Yarraman Park, Forbidden City is a half-sister to Group II placed Never Talk and is the second winner from Palace Talk, a winning half-sister by Street Cry (IRE) to the dam of Group II winner Countess Vanessa.
Palace Talk was covered again last year by I Am Invincible, who brought up a double for Moody when Attractable won his third race from six starts when taking out the Benchmark 70 event over 1600m by three-quarters of a length with Jamie Kah in the saddle.
A $290,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Mill Park draft for Domeland, Attractable is the third winner from three foals to race from stakes-winning Husson (Arg) mare Affable, who comes from the family of dual Group I winner and sire Turffontein.
