So Many Stars, Hard to Know Where to Look First

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 31

A big set of barrier trials at Rosehill on Monday morning featured nearly every major player trained in Sydney, so if you’re a fan of Nature Strip, Zaaki, Verry Elleegant, Home Affairs and company read on.

Six G1 winners in this heat, although they were largely content to roll around under a hold with the placings filled by a classy trio seeking to win G1 races of their own in the autumn.

Lonhro mare Mirra Vision won her first Black Type race in the spring and was sixth in the G1 Empire Rose in Melbourne. Now a fully mature 5YO, she will have ample opportunity for G1 success in mares races such as the Coolmore Classic and Queen of the Turf.

Home Affairs looking in cruise control behind the speedy Embracer, while Zaaki fans have to happy be with that stretch of his legs with Laws of Indices and Shared Ambition hitting line hard. 3YO fillies Mallory and Four Moves Ahead set to chase G1 success, Surround Stakes?

Bit of the wow factor in this heat with Nature Strip edged out by Snitzel stallion Wild Ruler and unbeaten 3YO filly Espiona a close third. Also a lot to like about late closing Top Ranked (IRE), looks another star import for Annabel Neasham.
