Paul Messara and Dundeel gave us the ‘One to Watch’ on Monday with an impressive debut winner at the Beaumont meeting at Newcastle.
Three year-old filly Mirror Queen was favourite for the 1350m maiden and surged clear at the finish to open up a margin and win by more than three lengths in a dominant display.

Mirror Queen was recorded as a $190,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase from the Arrowfield draft for her trainer and runs in the Arrowfield colours.
She is the sixth winner from seven foals to race from Illusionary, a winning half-sister by Hussonet (USA) to Group II winners Chase the Rainbow and Ms Funovits.
Illusionary died in 2019 and her final foal is a Dundeel colt that Arrowfield sold for $140,000 at Inglis Easter this year to Yes Bloodstock.
