Holler Breaks the Ice

Mark Smith - Friday September 3

Darley stallion Holler is on the board after the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Obfuscation broke his maiden at Bendigo on Friday in the manner that suggests there are better days ahead.

Ridden by Jordan Childs, Obfuscation was caught three and four wide the trip. Speared out five wide on the turn, Obfuscation knuckled down to his task to defeat the I Am Invincible colt Treporti by one and a quarter lengths with the same distance back to the Dundeel colt Cerberus in third.

It was the second start for Obfuscation, who flagged his ability with a fighting third at Bendigo on August 8.

A $90,000 pinhook by Blake Ryan Racing from the Bucklee Farm draft at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Obfuscation was sold to MG Price Racing & Breeding for $50,000 at the 2020 Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale.
