Million Dollar Day for Lime Country

Media Release - Wednesday April 7

Lime Country celebrated a million-dollar milestone courtesy of outstanding breeder support at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale yesterday.

The vendor’s first million-dollar yearling came courtesy of the Woodpark Stud-bred Lot 187, an imposing colt by Not A Single Doubt out of Aloona, who was purchased by Coolmore Stud.

“It’s our first million-dollar yearling so it's very exciting. At the end of the day we don’t get stock like this without really good breeders behind us. We’re so grateful that the Dubois of Woodpark Stud entrusted us with not only this colt, but another also,” said a thrilled Jo Griffin.

“Coolmore know their stuff. They have had a sensational run with that first group of 2YO colts that they purchased last year. We are so happy it's going to Chris Waller. It couldn’t be better.

“He has a really beautiful action and the best brain on the ground.”

The exceptional result was not the only milestone Lime Country would celebrate on day one of selling.

“Earlier on in the sale, Jamieson Park’s I Am Invincible colt out the Gr.1 mare Thee Auld Floozie made $550, 000, which is the highest-priced yearling they have ever sold, so they are loving Easter too!”

Known as vendors who meet the market, Lime Country realized 100% clearance rate on Day One.
