Seasons Wins Black Type at Last

Tara Madgwick - Saturday March 27

Fourth in the Group III ATC Birthday Card Quality (1200m) 12 months ago, the Les Bridge trained Sebring mare Seasons returned this year to take out the feature event, posting her first victory in a Black Type race.

The six year-old has been handled patiently, working her way through the grades as a younger horse, before fulfilling her potential with this valuable win.

Second at her first run back from a spell in Group III mares company, she stripped fitter this time around and surged home for Kerrin McEvoy to score a commanding two and a quarter length win.

"She thoroughly deserved that win. She's been knocking on the door and I knew the first day she got a good run she'd be right in it. Conditions were perfect, sting out of the ground, great jockey. I'm really tickled pink because I like this mare,” said Bridge.

"She just keeps being placed in these stakes races. I knew she'd break through I just didn't know when."

At last, Seasons is a SW!

A $110,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Holbrook Thoroughbreds draft for Les Bridge stable client Kim Harding, she runs for a big group of owners and has already banked over $380,000 in prizemoney with five wins and six placings from 17 starts.

Bred by Andrew Bowcock, Seasons is a half-sister to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Quick Thinker and Group III place The August being from stakes-placed Al Maher mare Acouplamas, who comes from the family of Group I winners Blackfriars and Larrocha.

Acouplamas has a colt by Trapeze Artist last spring and is now in foal to The Autumn Sun.

Seasons is the 65th stakes-winner for much missed Widden sire Sebring, who has 15 yearlings from his final crop entered for Inglis Easter.
