In Her Time to be offered at Inglis Chairman's Sale

Media Release - Wednesday March 10

The list of top-class broodmares and breeding prospects to be offered at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale has grown further with confirmation multiple G1 winner In Her Time – in foal to I Am Invincible – will be offered at the auction.

In Her Time proved herself one of the best race mares of the past 10 years during a career that netted two G1 wins in the Lightning Stakes and The Galaxy.

In Her Time won the G1 VRC Lightning Stakes and made $2million at this sale last year.

She was also placed a further six times in G1s (Stradbroke Hcp, TJ Smith Stakes, Manikato Stakes, Tatts Tiara and twice in the VRC Sprint Classic) and won another four Stakes races.

In Her Time defeated the best sprinters around throughout her racing days including the likes of Santa Ana Lane, Redzel, Pierata, Sunlight, Shoals, Global Glamour, English, Booker, Trapeze Artist, Brave Smash, Alizee, Redkirk Warrior, Houtzen, Written By etc.

In Her Time will be offered at the Chairman’s Sale by the Newgate Consignment.

“In Her Time was one of the best sprinting mares we’ve seen in the past decade and she’s from a very deep family,’’ Newgate’s Henry Field said.

“We purchased her on behalf of Orbis at last year’s Inglis Chairman’s Sale as they were dissolving a partnership.

“Orbis have opted to offer her for sale this year as the decision has been made that breeding will not be their key focus.

“It’s a privilege to be consigning a mare of this quality.

“She’s been a dream to have had residing on the farm, having gone in foal to I Am Invincible on an early September cover and I have no doubt she will be one of the most highly sought-after pregnant mares that gets offered at public auction anywhere in the world in 2021.’’

Inglis’ NSW Bloodstock Manager Chris Russell added: “She has got everything you would want in a mare and she’s carrying to I Am Invincible – packages like that come on the open market very, very rarely.

“We are obviously incredibly grateful for the opportunity that the owners have given to us and I think, in partnership with Newgate who are such great consignors, we can deliver a fantastic sale.”

In Her Time joins the likes of recent Oakleigh Plate winner Celebrity Queen, two-time G1 winner Pippie, fellow dual G1 winner Danzdanzdance, G1 Blue Diamond runner-up Lankan Star, multiple Stakes-winning 2YO Mildred and Courchevel - the Snitzel half sister to champion mare Winx who carries a Capitalist pregnancy – amongst a host of exciting entries confirmed for the sale, setting the scene for another outstanding renewal.

The catalogue is also set to include mares in foal to the likes of leading sires such as Fastnet Rock, Written Tycoon and Zoustar, as well as a rare southern hemisphere-time pregnancy to exciting young sire Night Of Thunder.

In the past two editions of the Chairman’s Sale, the average price for race fillies and race mares is over $545,000, while three of the four highest-priced pregnant mares sold at public auction in Australasia in 2019 and 2020 were sold at the Chairman’s Sale.

Eight fillies or mares have sold for $1m or more in that same time including Maastricht who sold for $2.25m in 2019.

The Chairman’s Sale will this year be held as a live auction at Riverside on the evening of Friday May 7.

Entries for the Chairman’s Sale, as well as the HTBA May Sale, the Australian Weanling Sale and the Australian Broodmare Sale close soon.
