Lyndhurst Stud’s Better Than Ready is a clear leader on the Australian 2YO Sires by winners list with nearly double the number of winners over the next best sire and yearling buyers will have an unprecedented opportunity to secure his stock next week with some 80 of his yearlings entered for Magic Millions Gold Coast March.

Better Than Ready’s 10 winners have come from 21 runners and are highlighted by Group III winning colt Alpine Edge, who was also second to Shaquero in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Alpine Edge is not his only stakes-winner this season with talented three year-old Apache Chase also earning Black Type when winning the Group III BRC Vo Rogue Plate, while his four year-old son The Odyssey continues to be the sale ring gift that keeps on giving.

A $30,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase for his trainer Kelly Schweida in 2018, The Odyssey won the Listed BRC Phelan Ready Stakes and $500,000 Aquis Jewel as a 2YO and has maintained his form as an older horse with his overall record now standing at 10 wins and seven placings f rom 26 starts with prizemoney topping $1.7million.

The current crop of yearlings by Better Than Ready are from his biggest ever book of mares and are his last progeny bred from his initial $9,900 fee before his fee was raised to $33,000 in 2019.

As a result he is the most represented sire at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale with some 80 entries and you can see them here in a Breednet gallery style format offering a super quick appraisal on type ahead of further investigation.
