One to Watch – Canterbury

Tara Madgwick - Friday November 27

The first race at Canterbury on Friday night produced an impressive So You Think winner that delivered an exciting pedigree update for his half-brother being taken to Magic Millions in January by Valiant Stud.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained three year-old gelding So United was second up from a spell and relished the step out to 1550m.

He led all the way for Brenton Avdulla from barrier one and had his rivals all off the bridle turning for home.

So United skipped away to win by more than three lengths in a dominant display at just his third start.

A $190,000 Magic Millions purchase for Blueblood Thoroughbreds from the Valiant Stud draft, So United is a half-brother to juvenile stakes-winner Unite and Conquer and is the second winner from Maglissa.

So United as a yearling.

A metropolitan winner by Magnus from Group I winner Danglissa, Maglissa is a half-sister to the dams of Group III winner Sweet Redemption and stakes-winner Euryale.

Valiant Stud will offer her current yearling, a colt by Fastnet Rock, as Lot 510 at Magic Millions.
