Cup Day Stakes Double for Written Tycoon

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 3

Relocated to Arrowfield Stud this year, Written Tycoon has been in a rich vein of form this season and made it a stakes double at Flemington on Cup Day with progressive mare Rich Hips claiming her first Black Type win in the Group III VRC Hong Kong Jockey Club stakes (1400m).

The victory for Rich Hips followed on from the earlier win in the day of promising two year-old colt Finance Tycoon, who took out the Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate, read about him here.

Trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, Rich Hips was easy in the market after finishing last at her previous start in the Group II MRC Tristarc Stakes, but she turned that form around to charge home under Mick Dee to win running away by half a length over Group I winner Lyre.
