Winning Return and G2 Goal for for Fituese

Tara Madgwick - Sunday September 13

Joe O’Neil’s Prime Thoroughbreds colours had a lot of success last season on top class filly Rubisaki, but not far behind was progressive Deep Field filly Fituese and she returned from a winter spell with a big win at Rosehill on Saturday.

The John Thompson trained four year-old won the Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes at the end of her autumn preparation and was fit and ready to fire first up.

She hit the line hard to score a head win in the Benchmark 88 sprint over 1100m beating a hot field that included boom horse Masked Crusader.

With six wins from nine starts and prizemoney topping $3000,000, Fituese looks set for another great campaign.

A $55,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase for Prime Thoroughbreds from the Western Breeders Alliance draft, Fituese is the second winner from Cattalo, a Tiger Hill (IRE) grand-daughter of four-time Group I winner Mannerism.

Cattalo is booked to visit Newgate FArm's Deep Field again this spring.
