Undefeated Immortal Love on a Path to the Caulfield Guineas

Mark Smith - Saturday August 29

A length covered the first six runners home in Saturday’s Group III HDF McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield with the Snitzel gelding Immortal Love doing the best in a driving finish to keep his record at a perfect three for three.

With Craig Newitt in the saddle, Immortal Love still had plenty to do half-way down the straight Blue Diamond Stakes winner Tagaloa was hanging tough after dis[posing of a stubborn Extra Time (Shooting To Win) before coming under attack from firstly Flying Award and then Immortal Love who finished resolutely to defeat Flying Award (Shamus Award) by a short-half-head with Tagaloa (Lord Kanaloa) a nose back in third.

Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr for Peter Creighton’s United syndications, Immortal love was highlighted on Breednet when making a winning career debut at Echuca on May 4.

He then went to Flemington where he comfortably disposed of the $1 VOBIS Showdown winner Khoekhoe over 1400m on a heavy 8.

“It wasn’t the plan to be so far back in the run, I will be interested in what Craig says,” Mick Price said.

“He did a great job and you can add about three lengths to his form if it rains. I will say he goes to the Exford (Plate at Flemington) in two weeks then the Guineas Prelude then the Caulfield Guineas.

“He’s a gelding is quite uncomplicated and it’s great for Peter Creighton who bred him.”

Immortal Love is the third winner and first stakes-winner out of  the Bel Esprit mare Loveyamadly who was purchased by United Syndications for $60,000 out of the Yallambee Stud draft at the 2010 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

er of the Listed Abel Stakes and a Group III runner-up, Loveyamadly went on to win six and place in three of her 13 starts with earnings of $319,338.

United chose to breed from Loveyamadly whose first foal Classic Gaming (Medaglia D'Oro) was sold for $200,000 at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. He has won two and placed in four of his nine starts to date.

United kept the next two foals of Loveyamadly a filly and a colt by Snitzel.

The filly named Bella Amore who broke her maiden at Sandown in December.

Loveyamadly has a 3yo colt by Not A Single Doubt that was purchased by Nat McCall Racing for just $20,000 at the 2019 Inglis September Online Sale.

After foaling a Capitalist filly last spring, Loveyamadly was covered by Rubick.

Immortal Love becomes the 104th stakes-winner for Arrowfield Stud’s champion stallion Snitzel.

Interestingly, Immportal Love is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Snitzel stakes-winner Ducimus, who stands at Rivercrest Park Stud in Western Australia and you can read about him here,
