Tassort to Stand at Newgate

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 20

Newgate in conjunction with Emirates Park have purchased impeccably bred, boom juvenile Tassort, a blue-blooded son of Brazen Beau.

Tassort will stand at Newgate Farm in conjunction with Emirates ParkOne of the most talented juveniles from the I Am Invincible sire line, out of blue hen mare Essaouira, Tassort won the Golden Gift in a record-breaking time and margin scorching the turf winning by more than five lengths, and in doing so putting in one of the highest rated juvenile performances seen all season.

He started on only one other occasion finishing second in the Group II ATC Silver Slipper behind Time to Reign.

“Tassort is out of one of Australia’s great blue hen mares Essaouira, and from the dominant I Am Invincible sire line.  The combination of his genetic excellence and untapped talent is the reason we purchased Tassort,” said Emirates Park General Manager Bryan Carlson.  “We will be supporting him heavily at stud with many of our quality mares.”

Bred by Godolphin, Tassort is a half-brother to Group I winners Alizee and Astern from an exceptional female family tracing back through Group I winner La Baraka to Champion Filly Triscay.

“When I first saw Tassort step out in the Golden Gift he struck me as a 2YO with incredible talent, which was no surprise given the high regard he was held in by those that were closest to him.

“With the commitment of such a high volume and quality of Emirates Park and Newgate mares, Tassort will receive a terrific opportunity at stud,” said Newgate Managing Director, Henry Field.

Tassort will stand at Newgate for a fee of $11,000 including GST. Breeding rights are available.
