At a cost of $90,000 at the 2016 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, Single Handed is comfortably the most expensive yearling by his sire Ambidexter, but he is proving to be money well spent for trainer Nick Smart as the 5yo gelding opened his stakes account in Saturday’s Listed Tokyo City Cup (1800m) at Morphettville.

With AMBERDI running second in the Listed Penny Edition Stakes for Sue Jaensch, the 5yo mare’s performance did something quite notable for her sire AMBIDEXTER.

A sire of winners, Ambidexter is quickly making a name for himself as one of the best value sires in Australia, proving successful on the track and in the sales ring.
