The Gary Portelli-trained Fireburn found the perfect spot in the Group II The Roses (2000m) at Doomben on Saturday to break back in the winner’s list for the first time since her heroic Golden Slipper/ATC Sires Produce Stakes double.
Rebel Dane was relocated to Widden Stud this spring off the back of the achievements of his Champion 2YO Filly and Golden Slipper winner Fireburn, the promising sire posting an impressive debut winner at Kembla on Thursday.
Sire of 2022 Golden Slipper/Inglis Sires' winner Fireburn (first filly since 1996 to capture the double) from only 2nd crop. Rebel Dane was a multiple Group 1 winner - Rupert Clarke Stakes and Manikato Stakes (defeating Chautauqua, Buffering, English etc.) … Group performed at 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 years of age, racing exclusively in Group 1 and Group 2 races at his last 31 starts … other runners include 1st crop 2YO, Subterranean winning the 2021 Group 3 Ken Russell.
