Balcairn trainers John and Karen Parsons are hoping their North Island luck holds two-fold at the Te Rapa premier meeting on Saturday week.

Outstanding southern mare Kiwi Ida showed northern racegoers a glimpse of her undoubted class when she dashed home to take out the Group II  Westbury Classic (1400m) in her first look at the Ellerslie track.

Sun Stud’s speed source, SQUAMOSA, has notched up another stakes winner with ORDER OF COMMAND producing a, literally, command performance down the straight six at Flemington, capturing the Hilton Nicholas Stakes.

Talented Squamosa sprinter, Order Of Command, has continued his terrific run this season with an emphatic victory over 1200 metres at Caulfield on Saturday.

Sun Stud's quiet achiever Squamosa was making news on Wednesday when his quality New Zealand based mare Kiwi Ida produced a career best performance to win her first Graded event.

Sun Stud’s Squamosa is having a great run of late, with not only the impressive Mick Price trained three-year-old Sun Quan making it three on the trot on but Derasa, another top three-year-old saluting over 1100 metres in Hobart.

Victoria’s champion first season sire, SQUAMOSA, produced a memorable double on Saturday, including a well deserved victory to highly promising 3YO, Kiwi Ida, in the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes over 1200m at Riccarton in New Zealand.

Sun Stud’s exciting young stallion, Squamosa has taken out the title of Victoria’s Champion First Season Sire for the 2016/17 racing season.
