Debut Winner for Super One

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 3

Newgate Farm’s promising young sire Super One posted a tenacious debut winner at Tamworth on Friday when Lucky Shadow overcame an outside gate to salute.

Super OneTrained by Bob Milligan, Lucky Shadow jumped from gate 12 in a field of 12 and hit the line strongly to win by the 1000 metre scamper by half a neck.

Lucky Shadow was a modest $15,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer from the HP Thoroughbreds draft and is the first winner from Tiger Eyes, a half-sister by Choisir to stakes-winner Speedy Leo.

Lucky Shadow is the second winner for I Am Invincible’s brilliant son Super One, who covered 169 mares last spring at a fee of $11,000.
