If you’ve been to Newgate Farm in recent weeks and inspected this exceptional Inglis Easter draft then you know what’s in store and if you feel like taking a second look to confirm your thinking, now is the time to view all of their draft again with video parades now available.
It’s hard to play favourites with a draft of this depth and quality, but we’ll offer some highlights below and to view the entire draft with insightful commentary from Newgate boss Henry Field click here.
Lot 104 Colt Snizel x Nayeli, by More than Ready (USA) - Second foal of brilliant fast Group III winner by a champion sire in More Than Ready and is a grand-daughter of Group I STC Winfield Classic winner Kapchat.
“He was one of the standout foals on the farm and is very much a horse we have liked from day one,” Henry Field.
Lot 125 Filly Capitalist x Pane in the Glass, by Testa Rossa – Half-sister to Group I placed stakes-winner Xilong and metro winners Roomooz and Pierro Belle.
“She’s a cracker. A really sharp filly, a real 2YO type and she’s from Pane in the Glass, one of my favourite broodmares on the farm,” Henry Field.
Lot 137 Colt Winning Rupert x Plethora (USA), by First Samurai – Half-brother to stakes-placed Poppy’s Destiny from US stakes-winner Plethora.
“He is so much like his sire it’s uncanny and being a November foal he’s still developing all the time into a really cracking horse,” Henry Field.
Lot 152 Filly Snitzel x Quench the Thirst, by Encosta de Lago – Huge pedigree update for this filly as she is a half-sister to this year’s slick Flemington stakes-winner Sangria and comes from the family of Redoute’s Choice.
“A filly with great residual value. She is a big strong, good moving filly and most importantly descends from the great Shantha’s Choice, one of the blue hen mares of the Australian studbook,” Henry Field.
Lot 295 Filly I Am Invincible x Your Lifestyle, by Hussonet (USA) – From the same stellar family as the previous filly. Three-quarter sister-in-blood to this year’s stakes-winner Sangria, who is by her sire I Am Invincible from Quench the Thirst, who is a half-sister to her dam.
“This is a really star filly, direct descendant of Shantha’s Choice and from a young Hussonet mare we have real confidence in. Her three year-old Café Royal has won three from four and should probably be unbeaten,” Henry Field.
Lot 346 Colt Capitalist x Beauty Is, by Redoute’s Choice - Second foal of a sibling to Group III winner Jazz Song and Group I placed Shaama and dam is a daughter of Group I winner Absolut Glam.
“Exceptional individual that was earmarked very early days to bring to the Easter Sale as we believe he is one of the best yearlings we have raised or seen by Capitalist,” Henry Field.
Lot 455 Filly I Am Invincible x Forever Loved (NZ), by High Chaparral (IRE) – Third foal of Group II winner Forever Loved, a grand-daughter of Group I winner Tristalove from the legendary Eight Carat (GB) family.
“She is by an exceptional sire from one of the great families, she’s a beautiful filly… all class and ticks every box,” Henry Field.
