Popular tipster Laurie Sainsbury has turned to some punting advice given to him by an astute associate to grab what he thinks is overs about a genuine winning chance at Caulfield on Saturday.
TAHANEE (Caulfield Race 2 No 9)
I gave this mare a good chance when she had her first start for the Darren Weir stable at Caulfield earlier this month. She had 57.5kg when fourth to Here To There beaten just on half a length. It was an encouraging run and she stays at the 1400m but there should be good pace on here as Schism, Forgeress, Heavenly Descent and Princess Of Queens all go forward and that should suit her. Drops 3.5kg and the form of her first-up run was franked last week when Here To There won at Moonee Valley.

POSEIDONS POOL (Caulfield Race 4 No 8)
Darren Weir produces a handy type here with only three career runs under his belt. He won a two-year-old maiden at Ballarat over 1000m and then went to Morphettville and won over 1050m before coming here last start in the Vain Stakes to run an impressive third behind Jukebox. All those runs were on soft going, gets on a good track on Saturday which was the surface he won a trial on in June. He draws the rails and has the ability to race handy which should ensure a cosy run. His sectionals last start were slightly better than Jukebox from the 800m which is a strong indicator and the 1200m looks perfect.

TIAMO GRACE (Caulfield Race 8 No 13)
The stable must be confident of this mare's condition to get her out to the 1700m second-up after a 42-week spell. She should have won the Ethereal here last October, picked herself up after interference and then went to Flemington and won the Wakeful over 2000m. Liked the way she came home first-up behind Here To There over 1400m, she's unbeaten in one previous second-up run albeit at Donald, has the rails draw and the drop of 4kg should see her competitive despite the class rise.

CHOCOLATE HOLIC (Caulfield Race 9 No 4)
A wise old punter once told me "it's only a bad barrier after the event" so remembering that I'm going to disregard the two Victorian runs behind Ability on heavy tracks, and behind Vega Magic on a soft track. His good track form reads (11:7-3-0) and included in that was a second to Vega Magic at Ascot in December. Vega Magic would be long odds on to win this race. If Brad Rawiller can take care of the dreadful barrier, he has two positives. Good going and the fact he's unbeaten third-up in his two previous attempts. Also there's a bolter here that can run a race, Settlers Stone.
