The late Sebring delivered a new stakes-winner for leading WA owner breeders Bob and Sandra Peters when three year-old gelding Superstorm took out the Listed WATC Challenge Stakes (1500m) at Ascot on Saturday. Fourth at his most recent outing in the Group I WATC Kingston Town Classic, the Grant and Alana Williams trained Superstorm was a hot favourite and cruised clear to win by two lengths. With two wins and two placings from six starts, Superstorm has already won over $145,000 and is a progressive type clearly on the rise. Connections plan to send him to Melbourne this week with stablemate Regal Power for a crack at the Group I VRC Australian Guineas. Superstorm is a full brother to stakes-winner Mikimoto and a half-brother to Group III winner Cosmic Storm from terrific producer Stormy Nova, a Group III winning daughter of Metal Storm (Fr). Stormy Nova was on-sold at the 2017 National Broodmare Sale for $45,000 and has a yearling colt by Street Boss (USA). Superstorm is the 57th stakes-winner for Sebring, who died in 2019 and his final foal crop were born last spring.
