First Winner for Outreach

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 30

Widden Stud’s blue-blooded Exceed and Excel stallion Outreach posted his first winner at Scone on Thursday with an impressive victory for Pee Dee.

The Pat Farrell trained gelding finished a close fifth on debut back in the spring when he did plenty wrong, but looked a more professional fellow this time around.

Outreach has sired his first winner with a Scone victory for Pee DeeHe jumped fast for Greg Ryan from gate one to hold the fence and led for home, defying all challengers to win the 900 metre scamper by a length.

Retained to race by his breeder David Parker, Pee Dee is the fourth winner from Hot’n’ Dreamin, a full sister to Parker’s former superstar mare Hot Danish, a dual Group I winner of 16 races and over $2.3million in prizemoney.

Hot’n’ Dreamin is also a half-sister to stakes-winner Manaya, so there is a touch of class to this female family.

Hot’n’Dreamin has a yearling colt by Outreach, a colt foal by Churchill (IRE) and was covered again by Outreach last spring.

A full brother to Golden Slipper winner Overreach and stakes-winner Standout as well as being closely related to Blue Diamond winner and proven stakes sire Reward for Effort, Outreach has five entries in the upcoming 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, three of them to be offered by Widden Stud.
