Making
it two wins in as many starts at Vaal in South Africa on Tuesday was three
year-old colt Alwahsh, the highest priced yearling by Sepoy from his second
crop.
The Mike de Kock trained colt surged clear to win the 1200 metre open sprint
beating older rivals by two length as favourite.
A $520,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell Australia from the Willow Park
draft, Alwahsh is the first winner for O'Reilly mare Irish Blues, a sibling to
multiple Group I winner Shamrocker, Group I winner Rock Diva and Group II
winner Bohemian Lily.
