$650,000 for Frosted Blueblood, a Pinhook Winner

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 9

Stunning grey Darley shuttler Frosted (USA) lit up sale rings in North America last year with his first crop and did the same at the Gold Coast on Thursday when his filly from Fast Fleet fetched $650,000 to the bid of Spendthrift Farm.

$650,000 Frosted filly from Fast FleetConsigned by Widden Stud, the star filly is a half-sister to five-time Group I winner Santa Ana Lane, a winner of over $7million in prizemoney and is the seventh foal of Fastnet Rock mare Fast Fleet.

She was a pinhooking success for Redwall Bloodstock, who purchased the filly for $300,000 from the Aquis draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale last year.

Fast Fleet herself was also sold last year at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $800,000 to Glenn Burrows Bloodstock / Bromfield Park and produced a filly by Zoustar last spring and is now in foal to Fastnet Rock.

Frosted has only three yearlings to be offered at this sale but will be a force at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale where 15 of his stock have been catalogued.

Standing at Darley Victoria, Frosted is the first son of champion US sire Tapit to shuttle to Australia.
