Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 30

Five heats for juveniles at the Rosehill trials on Monday included  some eye-catching winners including Godolphin’s Lonhro colt Beyliks, who was placed in the Group III ATC Breeders Plate.

Given an educational trial, Beyliks was asked to settle behind leaders and take a split to run to the line which he did under a hold looking full of running. The heat also featured the first appearance of Bucharest, a Deep Impact colt from Golden Slipper winner Miss Finland. He did everything right, albeit not asked for any serious effort.

The fastest two year-old heat of the session was won by Frankel filly Hungry Heart, who runs in the colours of her breeders Yulong Investments. She is the first foal of Pivotal mare Harlech (GB), a daughter of juvenile stakes-winner Zoowraa.

Gerry Harvey has already had plenty of success with his homebred I Am Invincible filly Libertini and I’m tipping he has another nice filly here in Selburose, who was having her first trial. Trained by Chris Waller, she sat behind the leaders and steamed to the line to win under a hold.

Selburose is from Group III placed Redoute’s Choice amre Rose Pattern, a daughter of former tough and brilliant sprinter Fair Embrace.

Other juvenile heat winners were Mr Cruise (Choisir) and Bazooka (Smart Missile).
