Deep Field's Big Parade Back with a Bang

Mark Smith - Wednesday December 4

A facile winner at Taree as his career debut in June, the Clare Cunningham-trained Big Parade stepped straight up to stakes company to round out his juvenile season with a second behind Kordia in a Listed race at Eagle Farm.

The strapping son of Deep Field made his seasonal bow at Gosford on Tuesday and he could hardly have been more impressive.

Sent straight to the front by Tim Clark, Big Parade made every post a winner in defeating Nuke (Smart Missile) by two and a quarter lengths with Thiswilldous (Zoustar) a further two lengths back in third.Big Parade as a yearling

A $160,000 purchase out of the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Big Parade is the third foal of the winning Fastnet Rock mare Crystal Rock a half-sister to the Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial Stakes winner Zizou (Fusaichi Pegasus) who was runner-up in the STC Golden Slipper Stakes and MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

Big Parade’s granddam, the stakes-placed Natural Is My Name (Naturalism), is a half-sister to Not A Single Doubt and the stakes-placed Hanky Panky (Anabaa), the dam of stakes-winners Fun In Flight (Fusaichi Pegasus), Come Hither (Redoute’s Choice) and Master Ash (Sebring).

Crystal Rock has an unraced 2yo I Am Invincible filly named Can't Get Enough who was purchased by Bjorn Baker Racing / Clarke Bloodstock for $155,000 at the 2019 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Crystal Rock foaled a Hellbent filly on October 12.

With 31 winners and over $1,740,000 in earnings already this season, Deep Field is the runaway leader for third crop sire. The son of Northern Meteor stands at Newgate Farm where he stands in 2019 at an advertised service fee of $44,000.
