No Nay Never Filly Rules the Roost at Churchill Downs

Mark Smith - Friday November 29

There couldn’t be many graded stakes on turf that have eluded Chad Brown and he ticked off another one when Nay Lady Nay, a daughter of Coolmore’s popular No Nay Never, finished best to capture Friday’s $300,000 Grade II Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs.

It was the third win in five starts for Nay Lady Nay who was coming off a stakes win in the Parx Fall Oaks.No Nay Never - image Mark Smith

Settled midfield by Junior Alvarado, Nay Lady Nay found a passage between the eventual third-placed The Mackem Bullet and second-placed Dalika to prevail by half a length.

A daughter of the English Channel mare Lady Ederle, Nay Lady Nay is a sister to Group II Coventry Stakes winner and twice Group 1 placed Arizona who rounded out a busy juvenile season with a luckless fifth in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita.

A €44,000 Goffs weanling, €50,000 Goffs Yearling, Nay Lady Nay made $210,000 at the 2018 March Ocala Breeders’ Sales.

She becomes the tenth Graded Stakes winner for No Nay Never who has a 17-strong draft of yearlings heading to the Magic Millions at the Gold Coast in January.
