Brazen Beau's Hot Run Continues

Mark Smith - Wednesday October 30

Darley Stud’s Braze Beau is having some kind of a week.

At Moonee Valley on Saturday, Ideas Man (ex: Innovation Girl) and Arctic Ice (ex: Icy Maiden) finished first and third respectively in the $500,000 Inglis Banner 2yo, 1000m, while Sartorial Splendor (ex: Personal Ensign) earned a Group III win in the Australia Stakes (1200m) while up at Randwick Colada (ex: Clearly Foxy) finished third in the $1 million Bondi Stakes (1600m) and the 2yo debutant Colada (ex: Clearly Foxy) finished third in the Kirkham Plate (1000m)

At Grafton on Tuesday, Brazen Gypsy (ex: Gypsy Diamond) joined in the fun when breaking her maiden over 1200 metres.

Which brings us to Hawkesbury on Wednesday where punters sent off the consistent Brazen Beau filly Brazenpine (ex: Johannapine) a short-priced favourite in a class 2 over 1000 metres.Brazenpine continues the hot run for Brazen Beau

Ridden by Tim Clarke for Peter and Paul Snowden, the Triple Crown colour-bearer travelled sweetly on the fence behind the leader Cassy’s Sister, got the split at the right time and was untroubled to win by a long looking length from Aeecee Vinco (Charge Forward) with Ariege (Exceed And Excel) a short-neck back in third.

Purchased by Triple Crown Syndications for $110,000 out of the Rushton Park draft at the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Brazenpine advanced her record to 3 wins and 2 seconds from 7 starts with earnings of $65,200.

She is the second foal and second winner out of the 3-time Melbourne winner Johannapine (Johannesburg) whose first foal Vegapine (Lope de Vega) has not been seen since finishing unplaced in last year's Crockett Stakes.

Johannapine’s unraced dam Alpine Echo (Danzero) is a sister to the stakes winner and Group II placed Pinezero.

Sadly, Brazenpine is the final foal of Johannapine who died in July 2017.
