TSHA Classes Popular at Jump into Spring

The latest round of Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association classes were held at Hawkesbury last weekend at the Sydney Showjumping Club's Jump into Spring Show with a new group of winners and a double up for Jeff Penza and his talented gelding Eli Lamar, who was also a championship winner at the Waratah Jumping Show the previous weekend.

Jeff Penza and Eli LamarA 10 year-old gelding by globe-trotting champion Elvstroem, Eli Lamar raced as Stromaise and won two races at Tamworth and Muswellbrook in a 24 start career.

At his final run in November 2015, he was ridden by Jeff Penza, who is now competing the horse with great success.

His sire Elvstroem was a champion on the track winning five Group I races including the Victoria Derby and Caulfield Cup before retiring to stud at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria where he stood until 2015 when waning popularity here saw him exported to France.

Elvstroem's first French bred progeny are now two year-olds and include Group II placed My Love's Passion. He stands at a fee of 5,000 euros.
